Pediatric Dental Appointment Scheduling & Cancellation Policies
At Kids 1st Pediatric Dentistry, we are committed to providing a premium dental experience for every child. Our team works hard to ensure that each visit is as stress-free and efficient as possible for you and your family. To maintain this high standard of care, we have established several policies to help our practice run smoothly and to ensure that all children receive the attention and care they deserve. These policies are designed to prioritize your child’s health and to encourage timely, attentive care from all our families.
1. Morning Appointments for Children Under 7
Younger children tend to do better in the morning, as they are more alert and cooperative during earlier hours. For this reason, we schedule children under the age of 7 for morning appointments. This allows us to provide the best care possible when your child is most ready to receive it. Afternoon appointments are reserved for older children who may handle the school-day transition more effectively. Should this schedule not work for your family, we will happily refer you to another provider who can better accommodate your timing needs.
2. Family Appointments for Children Under 5
For safety and efficiency, families are allowed to schedule no more than two children under the age of 5 per parent for a single visit. If more than two children need to be seen, a second adult is required to supervise the younger children. This ensures that each child receives the focused attention they deserve during their visit. We believe this policy provides a better, safer, and more relaxed experience for both your child and our team.
3. No-Show and No-Call Policy
We understand that life is busy, but we ask that you respect our scheduling process. If a family misses their appointment without notifying us in advance, we will no longer be able to schedule future appointments for them. This policy ensures that every family has the opportunity to schedule their children in a timely manner and that our time is used efficiently to provide care for all children.
4. Rescheduling for Families of Three or More
If a family of three or more children cancels or reschedules with less than 24 hours’ notice, we will only allow two children to be scheduled at a time for future visits. This policy helps us accommodate all patients and ensures that families are mindful of their scheduled appointment times. Timely cancellations allow us to offer care to other children in need.
5. Rescheduling and Cancellation
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. This allows us to offer the appointment to another child in need of care. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a cancellation fee or dismissal from the practice, depending on the frequency of missed appointments.
6. Multiple Sibling Appointments
We understand that coordinating care for multiple siblings can be challenging. We are happy to accommodate multiple siblings in one visit, but missed or canceled appointments without proper notice will result in the inability to schedule such group appointments in the future.
7. Morning Preference for Young or Nervous Children
We encourage parents of preschool-aged or nervous children to opt for morning appointments. Children are generally more cooperative and less anxious earlier in the day, leading to better outcomes for treatments such as fillings or extractions.
By adhering to these policies, we aim to provide a high-quality, premium dental experience for your family. These guidelines are in place to ensure that each child receives the full attention and care they deserve while allowing us to run an efficient and family-centered practice.
Thank you for choosing Kids 1st Pediatric Dentistry. We look forward to serving you and your family with excellence!
Encouraging Bravery and Independence in Patients
At Kids 1st Pediatric Dentistry, we strive to empower children to be brave and independent during their dental visits. We believe that giving them the opportunity to face treatment with confidence fosters long-term positive associations with dental care. Our team will encourage children to manage their treatment independently whenever possible, always using a gentle, supportive approach.
However, if a patient is unable to cope with the treatment or cannot maintain appropriate behavior, we will respectfully invite the parent or guardian to return with the patient for future visits. This ensures that the child feels supported while allowing us to deliver the necessary care in a safe, calming environment.
By creating a positive and nurturing space, we help children develop resilience and confidence in managing their dental health, while keeping safety and patient comfort as our top priorities.
